A HYSTORY THAT BEGINS WITH WATER

Flavio and Valerio Andreoli Bonazzi began investing in this sector in 1999, when they acquired 60% of shares of Hydrowatt SpA.

At that time Hydrowatt SpA, with the headquarters located in Ascoli Piceno, owned 6 hydroelectric power plants located in the Marche region.

1999-2001:

Investments in human resources, research and development.

Establishment of a new company structure: new staff selected and trained on a multidisciplinary level in order to be able to manage the entire production chain.

Consolidation and improvement of technology in terms of construction and management of hydroelectric power plants based on aqueduct backpressure: new and unused hydroelectirc potential sources are detected in Marche region.

2002:

Hydrowatt SpA acquires 60% of Hydrowatt Abruzzo SpA’s shares; the company owns 2 hydroelectric power plants.

2004:

Hydroimpianti Srl, equally controlled by Flavio and Valerio Andreoli Bonazzi, acquires 7 hydorelectric power plants in Piedmont and Lombardy; 5 of those plants are put on the market and sold while the other two are conferred to Hydrowatt Lombardia Srl.

2009:

EPICO Srl holding company is founded.

2010:

Diversification in terms of geographical area: EPICO USA Inc. acquires 5 hydroelectric power plants in the state of Maine (USA).
Hydrowatt Spa acquires the Hydroelectric Plant in La Rancia (MC).

2012:

Diversification in terms of Energy sources: EPICO Biomasse Srl opens to production the lignocellulosic biomass plant in Rieti, with a capacity of 1 MWe.

2014:

Hydrowatt Lombardia Srl acquires the hydroelectric power plant of Monteroberto (AN).
Hydrowatt SpA acquires the hydroelectric power plants in Sassoferrato (AN), Osimo (AN) and Matelica (MC).

2015:

Hydrowatt Lombardia Srl acquires the hydroelectric power plant in Gorgolungo (AN).
Hydrowatt SpA acquires the hydroelectric power plant in Castelbellino (AN).

2016:

Sale of the controlled stake in the American EPICO USA.
EPICO acquires Ergon Idroelettrica Srl, which owns the hydroelectric power plant in Treja (MC).

2017:

The hydroelectric power plants in Locone (Puglia), Force (Marche), Esaro (Calabria), Cese Basso (Molise) come into operation.
